Who doesn’t love Hyderabadi biryani ? And if you are one of them then you surely want to know how it is made.
Basically Hyderabadi biryani is made by basmati rice with meat. It was originated at nizams period of time. In their mughlai kitchen they used to cook biryani with adding different spices to it for different flavours. It is famous dish of Hyderabad. Or you can say heart of Hyderabadi food. No celebration is complete without biryani.
You can easily make Hyderabadi chicken biryani at home with few ingredients, without making it with lots of spices.
Ingredients for 1kg chicken biryani
1. 1kg chicken
2. 1/2 basmati rice
3. 3 table spoon ginger garlic paste
4. 3 table spoon full red chilli powder
5. 3 table spoon full garam masala powder (home made)

6. 2 table spoon cardomom powder
7. Curd half kg
8. 1 sliced onion
9. Salt 3 table spoon
10. Coriander and mint leaves- 2 bunch
11. Shahjeera handful
12. Fried onion 2
13. 1 lemon juice
Steps to make biryani
1. Take a vessel and add washed chicken pieces without any leftover water in it .
2. Add 4 table spoons full accordingly.
3. Add ginger garlic paste.
4. Mix well
5. Take a pan heat oil and fry onions till brown and leave it aside 5 minutes till it is crisp.
6. Add red chilli powder, garam masala powder, shahjeera, cardamom powder, curd , salt , sliced onions, fried onions, lemon juice , coriander and mint leaves , mix all the ingredients well.
7. Keep marination for about 1 hour or 20 minutes.
8. Till then wash basmati rice and cook till it’s done 80% add cardamom powder and salt while rice starts boiling.
9. After rice is 80% cooked , remove excess water and transfer rice into marinated vessel. Clean all the sides and close the lid .
10. Cook for about 30-40 minutes, starting 10 minutes on medium high , next 10 minutes on medium, next 10 minutes on slow.
11. Your Hyderabadi chicken biryani is done.
